About the Project
The “Agora” project has 3 (three) types of activities, following especially the involvement of youngsters with fewer opportunities*.
The first activity of the project regards the preparation and the implementation of a campaign of informing youngsters and of raising awareness in at least one local community concerning European Voluntary Service and transantional voluntary service. It also regards the promotion of these existing programs among youth in the spirit of increasing visibility of these type of opportunities, but also of rasing awareness on the importance of participating to these non-formal development projects for youngsters.
Along with this stage of informing we mention the second activity of the project: research campaign. This stage has as aim the identification of youth perceptions and of other actors directly concerned of the project’s theme regarding 10 subjects tightly related to the types of European Voluntary Service and transnational voluntary service opportunities, to their future will of involvement in such training projects and also regarding the risks that may appear from the non-involvement in such voluntary services.
The third activity of the project concerns the deve- lopment of a voluntary stage, during one month, between 15.06.2010—15.09.2010. The voluntary service will take place in France and will be implemented by 50 young Romanians with fewer opportunities, aged between 18 and 28.
*Youngsters with fewer opportunities are the youngsters disadvantaged by others, due to certain situations or obstacles such as: social obstacles, economic obstacles, educational difficulties, cultural differences, health problems or geographic obstacles.
